Welsh 3000's Ultra Run

The Welsh 3000's Ultra Run is a guided mountain run on Saturday 12 September 2026 in Snowdonia, North Wales. The route visits the 15 Welsh 3,000 ft peaks across the Snowdon, Carneddau and Glyderau ranges and includes the Crib Goch traverse. The course covers approximately 30 miles (50 km) with about 4,000 m of total ascent. The event is organised by Adventure Awaits and is described as a guided mountain run rather than a race. Minimum age to enter is 18.

Logistics and entry

The event is led by experienced trail runners who hold British Mountain Leader and British Athletics qualifications. Transport to the start, a mountain guide and a support vehicle are included in the entry price. Premium aid stations are provided, offering a selection of hot and cold food. Bookings open 4 July 2025 and close 4 September 2026. The booking fee is £170. Participants may choose to purchase optional XCover for possible refund protection. Tour De Yr Wyddfa is an epic winter loop around Yr Wyddfa, climbing 2327 m on the full 43.5 km route. Solo, pair or two leg relay entries are welcome, but runners must meet mountain experience and kit requirements for safety.

Tackle a scenic but testing 6.8 km fell course around Dolgarrog with 417 m of climb, hosted at Canolfan Porthlwyd. Entry on the day; minimum age 16 makes it perfect for adventurous runners.

Challenge yourself on the Beast of the Blacks, a scenic trail run in the Black Mountains on 14 March 2026 with 17 km, 32.5 km and 65 km options. Expect well stocked checkpoints, camping, GPX routes and a canicross friendly atmosphere.

Ras yr Aran on 28 March 2026 starts from Llanuwchllyn village hall near Bala and offers a testing 10 mile senior race with about 945 m of ascent across classic North Wales terrain. Teams and juniors welcome with limited entries.
