Clowbridge 5k - Autumn 2/3
The event is a trail 5 km held on a popular route off the Pennine Bridleway. It is part of a three-race series on 3, 10 and 17 September 2026. The course covers two laps of the trail path around Clowbridge Reservoir in an anticlockwise direction, starting from Rossendale Valley Sailing Club on Manchester Road, Burnley, BB11 5PF.
The route is described as fast and flat with approximately 25 m of elevation gain over the 5 km distance. The series is open to participants aged 11 and over. Prizes are awarded in each race and the course is marshalled.
Practical information includes an entry fee of £6.50 and documented opening and closing dates for entries. Competitors are asked to park sensibly in the local area; available parking includes the lower car park at the Sailing Club and Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir. Monies raised from the series will be donated to local causes.
