PFW Running - The Wyre Wine and Cheese Run

PFW Running presents a new event on Thursday, 10 September 2026 at Wyre estuary country park, River Road, Thornton-Cleveleys, FY5 5LR. The event is a 4 mile trail run along the Wyre estuary on a mainly flat path with a few rises. The course starts and finishes at the riverside and includes an out-and-back route with a turn point.

At the turn point there will be an aid station providing water and a small serving of red or white wine. All finishers receive a medal, a 187ml bottle of red or white wine with the lid on, and a selection of cheese and crackers to accompany the wine. The event includes free parking, toilets, medical cover and marshals on course.

The event is for adults only; minimum age is 18 years. Entrant numbers are capped at 150 and entries close on 09/09/2026. The event will be held under UK athletics rules and a trail running license. Refunds are not permitted and deferrals are not available. Transfers to another runner are allowed up to one week before the event provided the new entrant details are supplied. Fell race at Beetham Sports Field in the Lake District on Sat 25 Jul 2026. The course is 9.3 km with 283 m of ascent and the day includes traditional village sports and junior races on the field.

Tackle the Hameldon Quarry Race on 28 July 2026 in Hapton, Burnley, a lively 6.5 km trail with about 400 m of climb through Bowland terrain. Day entry only, low fees and team categories make it ideal for a spontaneous challenge.

A 10 km trail race through Gisburn Forest organised by Pendle Trail Running Club with chip timing, photography and a race medal.
