A Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Braunstone Park on 15 May 2027 combining grass and path with climbs, crawls and slides. Waves start every 15 minutes, participants must be 13 or older and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50.

A measured 50 km route from Telford Town Park to Shrewsbury that passes historic sites such as Ironbridge, Buildwas Abbey and Wroxeter Roman City. The event features chip timing, five nutrition stations and a bespoke finish medal.

A trail half marathon of about 13.2 miles around Black Hambleton and Silton Woods south of Osmotherley, with forest tracks, ancient trods and extensive moorland views. Entry is limited to 50 runners and there is a four hour time limit.

A 5 km muddy obstacle course at Birkenhead Park featuring climbing, crawling and sliding. Organised by Cancer Research UK, the event uses staggered wave starts and requires participants to be 13 or older.

A 5.8 miles Peak District fell race around Youlgrave with rough trails, climbs, a swamp and partial marking. Entry is £6 with limited places and proceeds support Youlgrave Parish Council.

A canal-side running event in Saltaire offering 5K, 10K and half marathon distances on scenic Yorkshire routes, with finishers receiving a jumble medal, hot food and a drink.

The Calderdale Way Relay is a six leg off road team race on 16 May 2027, starting at Clay House in West Vale and finishing at Spring Hall. Entries open online in December 2026 and are limited to 100 teams on a first come first served basis.

A 32 mile point to point trail ultra around East Lancashire visiting the four Panopticons art installations. The route uses South Pennines trails, includes a GPX file and requires navigational ability and specific off road kit.

A long May fell race of about 37 miles and 10,000 feet of ascent, visiting Helvellyn, Scafell Pike and Coniston before returning to Great Langdale. The race began in 1988 after a 1987 test year.

A single stage 160 mile trail ultramarathon along the Cleveland Way and Tabular Hills with over 7000 m ascent and a 50 hour limit. Entries are capped at 60, all runners must have motorised support and trackers are included.

Three trail races (50, 26, 16 miles) follow the final sections of the Heart of Wales Line, finishing at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, with baggage transfer and varying checkpoint support by distance.

A backyard ultra at Hunters Greave where runners must complete a 4.167 mile loop each hour to continue; all but the final solo finisher receive a DNF. Camping, aid station facilities and a participant goodie bag are provided.

An evening fell race in Hebden Bridge on 1 June 2027 covering 10.4 km with 350 m of climb on a flagged course. Entry on the day is available for £5 and the race holds an FRA permit with UK Athletics insurance.

The DNF x FCF West Midlands Backyard Ultra will take place in Little Haywood on Friday 4 June 2027. You can run 4 miles.
