SilverBackTrails Oswiu's Revenge - Half Marathon

Oswiu's Revenge is a trail running event of approximately 13.2 miles around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area south of Osmotherley. The route follows forest tracks and ancient trods and offers views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York.

The course includes varied and technical sections with ascents and descents. Navigation will be aided by some flags and marshals, a master map available at registration and a GPX file issued to participants before the event. There will be one checkpoint on the course providing water, cola and sweet snacks, plus refreshments at the finish; vegetarian and vegan options will be available.

Entries are limited to 50 participants, all entrants must be at least 18 years old and there is no on-the-day entry. A time limit of 4 hours applies. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a certificate. Parking is available at the start and finish area; a £1 per car parking contribution will be collected for donation to the National Park.

Participants must carry minimum safety and navigation equipment including a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket, an emergency bivvy bag, about 500 mL of fluid, at least 60 g of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps, a working compass and an OL 26 OS Map or Harvey's Map of the North Yorkshire Moors.
