Silverbacktrails - Oswiu's Revenge

Oswiu's Revenge is a trail running event covering approximately 13.2 miles in the area of Black Hambleton and Silton Woods, situated to the south of Osmotherley. The course utilises forest tracks and ancient trods, offering views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. The terrain is varied and includes a number of technical ascents and descents.

Participants are required to carry specific mandatory equipment for the duration of the event. This kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, a hat, gloves, a spare thermal top, an emergency bivvy bag, and a working compass. Runners must also carry a minimum of 500 ml of fluid, at least 60 grams of food, and a fully charged mobile phone with location apps installed. An OS Map (OL 26) or Harvey's Map of the North Yorkshire Moors is also required.

The run has a total time limit of 3.5 hours. There is one checkpoint on the course providing water, soda, and snacks, including options suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Dogs are permitted to participate if kept on a short lead or harness; they start five minutes after the main field for safety purposes.

Registration and number collection take place at Square Corner, where parking is available for a small fee. Participation is limited to 50 runners, and all entrants must be at least 18 years of age.
