SilverBackTrails Oswiu's Revenge - Half Marathon is scheduled for 17 May 2026 at Square Corner, near Osmotherley. The route is a trail run of about 13.2 miles around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area. Entry is limited to 50 participants, the minimum age is 18, and the stated entry fee is £20. Entries are processed through SiEntries; entries open 29 May 2025 and close 16 May 2026. The event is organised by SilverBack Trails.

Course, support and requirements

The course follows forest tracks and ancient trods and offers extensive views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. There are technical ascents and descents and varied terrain; navigation aids will include some flags, marshals, a master map at registration, and a GPX file provided to participants before the event. There is a single checkpoint on course and provisions at the finish; available supplies include water, coke and sweets and there will be vegetarian and vegan options. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a certificate. A 3.5 hour time limit applies. Required minimum kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams (unless Paramo), hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket, an emergency bivvy bag, at least 500 ml of fluid, at least 60 g of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps, a working compass, and an OL26 or Harvey’s map of the North Yorkshire Moors. There is ample parking at the start/finish; a £1 per car donation will be collected for the National Park.
