SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge - Half Marathon is a trail running event on Sunday 17 May 2026. The route is around 13.2 miles and starts from Square Corner, near Osmotherley. The event is organised by SilverBack Trails, limited to 50 participants and restricted to those aged 18 or older. Entry is via SiEntries only and the entry fee is £20. Entries open 29 May 2025 and close 16 May 2026. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a certificate.

Course and logistics

The course runs around Black Hambleton and Silton Woods, using forest tracks and ancient trods with views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. The terrain is varied with several technical ascents and descents. There will be flags and marshals for navigation, a master map at registration, and a GPX file sent to participants before the event. One checkpoint on the course and the finish will provide water, cola and sweets/snacks; vegetarian and vegan options will be available. A 3.5 hour time limit applies. Parking is available at the start/finish with a £1 per car donation to the National Park. Dogs are allowed on a short lead or harness; dog-powered entries will start five minutes after other competitors and have an adjusted time limit. Competitors must carry minimum kit including a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, spare thermal layer, emergency bivvy, 500 ml fluid, 60 g food, fully charged mobile with mapping apps, a working compass and an OL26 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map.
