SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge - Half Marathon

Oswiu’s Revenge is a trail running event of approximately 13.2 miles around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area south of Osmotherley. The route follows forest tracks and ancient trods and offers extended views over the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. The course includes several technical ascents and descents.

The route will be marked on a master map at registration and there will be some flags and marshals to aid navigation. A GPX file is sent to participants before the event and a recce is advised. One checkpoint on the course and the finish provide water, coke and Haribo type sweets and snacks; finish provisions include options suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a certificate.

Entries are limited to 50 participants and all entries are via SiEntries with no entries on the day. Minimum age is 18. The event has a four hour time limit and there is ample parking at the start and finish with a £1 parking charge collected on the day for donation to the National Park. An optional event technical T shirt is available for purchase via the SilverBackTrails club shop.

Competitors must carry as a minimum a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket, an emergency bivvy bag, at least 500 ml of fluid, at least 60 g of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps, a working compass and an OL 26 OS Map or Harvey’s Map of the North Yorkshire Moors.
