SilverBack Trails Oswiu’s Revenge - Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 17 May 2026. The route is a trail course of approximately 13.2 miles around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area south of Osmotherley. The course uses forest tracks and ancient trods and offers views of the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a certificate. The organiser sets a time limit of 3.5 hours.

Practical information

Location: Square Corner, near Osmotherley. Entry is limited to 50 participants. The published entry fee is £20. Entries open 29 May 2025 and close 16 May 2026; all entries must be made via SiEntries and there are strictly no entries on the day. Minimum age is 18.

Navigation and aid: The route will be marked on a master map at registration, with some flags and marshals, and a GPX file will be sent to participants in advance. One checkpoint on the course and the finish will provide water, cola and sweets/snacks, with vegetarian and vegan options.

Mandatory minimum kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams (unless Paramo), hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket, emergency bivvy bag, at least 500 ml fluid, at least 60 g of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps, a working compass, and an OL26 OS Map or Harvey’s Map of the North Yorkshire Moors. There is ample parking at the start/finish; a £1 per car charge will be collected on the day and donated to the National Park. Canine running partners are allowed on short leads or harnesses; dog-powered runners start five minutes after other competitors and their time limit is adjusted.
