SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge - Half Marathon

Oswiu’s Revenge is a low key trail running event of approximately 13.2 miles around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area south of Osmotherley. The route follows forest tracks and ancient trods and offers views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. The start and finish are at Square Corner near Osmotherley.

A time limit of 3.5 hours applies. Entry is limited to 50 participants and all entries must be made via the stated entry system; there are no entries on the day. All competitors must be at least 18 years old.

Organisers provide a master map at registration, some course flags and marshals to aid navigation, and a GPX file to participants before the event. There will be one staffed checkpoint on course and refreshments at the finish, including water, cola and sweets; vegetarian and vegan options will be available. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and a certificate.

A list of minimum mandatory kit is specified and includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket, emergency bivvy bag, at least 500 ml of fluid, a minimum of 60 g of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps installed, a working compass and an OL 26 OS Map or Harvey’s Map of the North Yorkshire Moors. Canine running partners are allowed on a short lead and will start five minutes after other competitors; their time limit will be adjusted accordingly.
