The Shropshire Historic 50K is scheduled for 16 May 2026. It is organised by Run The Distance and is the third race in the Shropshire 50 series. The event starts in Telford Town Park and finishes at The Quarry Park Shrewsbury, SY1 1JA.

Route and features

The route runs from Telford to Shrewsbury and passes several historical sites, including the Silkin Way, Ironbridge, Buildwas Abbey, Much Wenlock Abbey, Wroxeter Roman City, Attingham Park, Shrewsbury Abbey and Shrewsbury Castle. The race uses officially measured routes. On-course services include professional chip timing, five nutrition stations, and free photo downloads. A technical running T-shirt is available at an additional cost. Finishers receive a special segment medal; completing the Church Stretton 50K and the Shrewsbury 50K links the medals into a series medal.

Take on the finale of the Shropshire Winter Series at Ercall Wood, a tough 8.8 km fell race climbing 519 m on scenic Ercall Hill. Pre entry or on the day entries accepted and junior races run for ages 12 to 17.
