Calderdale Way Relay

The Calderdale Way Relay is scheduled for 16 May 2027. It is organised as a six leg off road team race that starts at Clay House in West Vale and finishes at the Halifax Harriers headquarters at Spring Hall. The event is licensed by the FRA and will be run under FRA rules.

Entries are online only, opening in December 2026, with a strict limit of 100 teams taken on a first come first served basis. Team names do not need to be provided at the time of entry; entry is confirmed on receipt of online payment. If the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the organisers control, or a team is unable to take part, entry fees will not be refunded.

Age and category rules are specified for teams. The minimum age is 18 years on the day of the race, except for runners on Leg 3 who may be 16 or over. Veteran categories start at over 40 years for both men and women. Mixed teams must include a minimum of six women to qualify for mixed team prizes.

Full kit is mandatory on legs 1, 2 and 4. Kit requirements for legs 3, 5 and 6 are weather dependent and determined by the race director; a prior kit update recommended waterproof body cover for those legs in cool, showery conditions. A revised changeover between legs 5 and 6 is in place and further race instructions are issued to competitors.

Prizes include overall and category awards, the Pete White Trophies for first teams to reach Stoodley Pike and a programme of bonus prizes for record breaking teams and pairs. Volunteer marshalls are requested to support event operations and are provided with a commemorative coaster and a hi viz top. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
