Trail Running calendar near Matlock 2026-2027

Hebden Sports is a classic BOFRA fell race on August Bank Holiday Monday. Juniors and seniors tackle a steep, technical course starting from the show field. The event includes several age group races and takes place in the Yorkshire Dales.

A 10 km fell race around Sir William Hill and Abney Moor on 1 September 2026, starting and finishing in Eyam. The event includes prizes from the Barrel Inn, a post-race barbecue and a 3 km on-day junior race for ages 11 to 16.

An evening fell race on 3 September 2026 covering 8 km with 360 m ascent across Brown Wardle, Middle Hill and Hades Hill. Mandatory FRA kit applies and runners must reach the top of Brown Wardle within 24 minutes.

A trail 5 km race around Clowbridge Reservoir in Burnley with two anti clockwise laps, open to runners aged 11 and over. It is the first of a three week autumn series on 3, 10 and 17 September 2026.

A charity trail running festival centred at Colne Valley High School, Huddersfield, offering 50mi, 50km, 27km, 10km and a junior 1.4km run with waymarked circular routes, mandatory kit and staffed feed stations.

Two linked fell races from Hayfield in the Peak District offer a 24.5 km, 1270 m ascent or a 15.5 km, 650 m option, both requiring navigation and mountain experience. Entries open pre and on the day, 200 places; full kit and map compulsory.

The Bullock Smithy Hike is a 56-mile circular ultra-hike or run organized by a local Scout group. Held over a weekend in September, it starts and finishes in Hazel Grove.

Participate in a unique fell race where teams carry beer barrels over the Edale moors. This family friendly event includes individual fell races and children's categories while supporting local primary schools.

A last person standing looped race at Hardwick Hall Estate where runners repeat a 4.16 mile loop every hour until only one can start the next lap. The course mixes estate trails and farmland and the event currently has a wait list.

A 7.1 km fell race on the Longshaw estate in September 2026, using the estate’s new route and 237 m of climb. Entry includes admission to Britain’s oldest sheepdog trials plus food and grandstand seating.

Enjoy a scenic trail run through the Staffordshire countryside starting and finishing at a canal side pub. This charity event features a 10k route followed by evening food and music.

A long-distance walking and running event crossing Wales over a 45 mile linear route to be completed within 18 hours, presented as a weekend package with accommodation, coach transport, refreshment stops and route maps.

A 23 mile walk and run from Gargrave Village Hall through Malhamdale to Kirkby Malham, Street Gate, Boss Moor and Eshton. Entry is limited to 200 places with set fees and a checkpoint cut off at 16.2 miles.

The Cheshire 100 Ultra Run follows the Cheshire Canal Ring from Northwich and is organised by New Era Community Boxing. Entry is open to those over 20, with route guidance, checkpoints, support options and a 36 hour time limit.
