Grafham Water Trail Races
Race Harborough stages fully marked and marshalled trail races around Grafham Water, with start and finish at Marlow Park, Grafham, Cambridgeshire. The event offers two distances:
- 10k
- Half Marathon
Both routes use trails and tracks around the reservoir and include sections of the Three Shires Way bridleway. The 10k leaves Marlow Park and returns via the outward bound track while the half marathon continues for a large lap of the reservoir. GPX files are provided for both routes. Arrow signs mark the courses. No in-ear headphones are permitted; bone-conducting devices that do not sit in the ear are allowed.
Entries will open soon. Entry fees are listed as £25 for the 10k and £30 for the half marathon. Minimum ages on race day are 16 for the 10k and 17 for the half marathon. The race cut off time is four hours for both distances. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Running with dogs is not permitted. Parking is available at Marlow Park and parking fees apply; local villages have very limited parking.
On-course support includes professional first aid at the start and finish with access to the course, Race Harborough volunteers, and water stations: three on the half marathon (locations TBC) and one on the 10k. Water will be available at the finish.
Mandatory items include a fully charged mobile phone (with the race director and race medic numbers for the half marathon) and a personal cup because the races are cupless. Trail shoes or footwear with grip are advisable. Additional suggested items depend on conditions and may include a waterproof jacket, long sleeve base layer, hat, and gloves.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both races and all finishers receive a commissioned race medal. Merchandise can be pre-ordered before the event; items listed include red technical t-shirts (£18), a unisex hoodie (£27), and trucker caps (£15). Merchandise is not available to purchase on race day.
For 2026 the event supports Jubilee Foodbank Market Harborough and Weston Favell Centre Foodbank Northampton; entrants are given the opportunity to donate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
