Grafham Water Trail Races
Grafham, United Kingdom • 11 Oct 2026
Event Overview
The Grafham Water Trail Races offer two fully marked and marshaled trail running distances on the paths surrounding Grafham Water reservoir in Cambridgeshire. The races start and finish at Marlow Park.
Distances
The available distances are:
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
Route Details
Both routes begin at Marlow Park and head west towards Easton, using trails and sections of the Three Shires Way bridleway. The 10 km route loops back along the outbound track, while the half marathon course completes a large lap around the reservoir. The routes offer views of the Cambridgeshire countryside and the reservoir.
Event Logistics
Registration opens at 07:00 for number, timing chip, and pre-ordered t-shirt collection. The event has a 4-hour cutoff time for both races. Entries and transfers close 7 days before the event. The minimum age is 16 for the 10 km and 17 for the half marathon. Running with dogs is not permitted as the course uses farmland footpaths.
On-Course Support & Rules
Professional first aid is available at the start, finish, and on the course. Volunteers man water stations: three on the half marathon route and one on the 10 km route. Water is also provided at the finish. In-ear headphones are not allowed, but bone-conduction headphones are permitted.
Mandatory & Recommended Kit
Trail shoes or shoes with grip are advised. Mandatory items for all participants are a fully charged mobile phone (with Race Director and Medic numbers stored for half marathon runners) and a personal cup, as the event is cupless. Depending on weather, runners may consider bringing a waterproof jacket, long-sleeved base layer, hat, and gloves.
Prizes & Amenities
Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race. All finishers receive a specially commissioned medal. Free digital race photographs are provided after the event.
Spectators & Charity
Spectators are encouraged to support along the tracks at Grafham Water itself, as parking in the small villages along the half marathon route is limited. The event supports the Jubilee Foodbank in Market Harborough and the Weston Favell Centre Foodbank in Northampton, with an option to donate during entry.
