Bedford Pretty Muddy 5k, Bedford

The Bedford Pretty Muddy 5k takes place on Saturday 25 July 2026 at Priory Park, Barkers Lane, Bedford MK41 9DJ. The event is organised by Cancer Research UK and uses routes within Priory Country Park.

The start and finish areas are on a grass field to the right of Cloverdale Café next to the lake. The course runs on a mixture of grass and tarmac paths and includes a series of muddy obstacles where participants climb, crawl and slide. The terrain is cross-country and can become boggy in poor weather.

Starts are staggered in waves every 15 minutes to manage numbers on the course. Participants must be 13 years of age or older; separate Pretty Muddy Kids events exist for younger children. Marshals are positioned on the course to assist and allow participants to move to the next obstacle if needed.

Available facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. The site has a cycle rack outside Cloverdale Café. Blue Badge parking and a drop off area are available via the main Priory Country Park car park off Barker's Lane. Two event car parks are provided nearby: Bedford Athletics Stadium (approx 12 minute walk, prebook fee applies) and Longholme Way Field (approx 20 minute walk, free). There are no electric vehicle charging points.

The listed entry prices are Adults £22.49 and Children £12.00 and the minimum fundraising target is £50.00. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and a finishers medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
