Foxton Hound Ultra

Foxton Hound Ultra offers two trail ultra distances that follow much of the Harborough Round long distance footpath around Market Harborough. The event is organised by Race Harborough and is licensed by the TRA and held under UKA rules.

The routes pass through countryside and villages in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and intersect with several long distance footpaths including The Jurassic Way, The Leicestershire Round, The Macmillan Way, The Midshires Way, The Richard the Third Trail and The Uppingham Round. Notable places on the courses include Houghton on the Hill, West Haddon, Coton, Stoke Albany, Foxton Locks, Naseby Battle Field and the Kelmarsh Tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way.

The event features aid stations and checkpoints with Race Harborough volunteers providing hydration and nutrition at seven checkpoints on the 100k course and three checkpoints on the 50k course. Hot pasta and hot drinks are served at Checkpoint 4 and soup and hot drinks at Checkpoint 7 on the 100k route. The 100k has an 18 hour race cut off with progressive cut offs from Checkpoint 3, while the 50k has a 9 hour finish cut off and no checkpoint cut offs. Pacers are permitted on the 100k from Checkpoint 5. Minimum age for entry is 20 on race day.

Navigation materials include GPX files and written route instructions, and runners are expected to navigate themselves if markings are removed or tampered with.
