Foxton Hound Ultra

The Foxton Hound Ultra is a trail event with two distances that follow much of the Harborough Round long-distance footpath through Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. The race route passes through countryside and villages around Market Harborough and visits locations such as Foxton Locks, the Naseby Battle Field and the Kelmarsh Tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way.

Both races are licensed by the TRA and will be held under UKA rules. Entry requires a minimum age of 20 years on race day. Cut-off arrangements differ by distance: the 100k has an 18-hour overall cut-off with progressive cut-offs from Checkpoint 3; the 50k has a 9-hour finish cut-off and no checkpoint cut-offs. Pacers are permitted on the 100k from Checkpoint 5. Crews and spectators are restricted at Cottesbrooke village and at the Elkington water station on the 50k route. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event.

Navigation materials include GPX files and written instructions; the route will be marked but runners are expected to be able to self-navigate. On-course support includes professional first aid and volunteers staffing aid stations - seven on the 100k, three on the 50k - offering food and drink with vegetarian and vegan options. Mandatory kit items are listed, including a charged mobile phone, 1 litre water capacity, survival blanket and head torch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
