Thunder Races : event overview

Thunder Races runs a series of trail and ultra events in the UK that emphasize a welcoming, supportive atmosphere. Events are described as fully marked and fully supported, with generous cut-offs and volunteer crews positioned along the courses. The organiser highlights inclusive on-course features such as rave stations and high-energy volunteers to create a supportive environment for participants.

Courses are set on runnable countryside terrain and include a mix of rural paths, villages, and open fields. Routes are designed to allow participants to concentrate on running without navigation stress, and they are presented as suitable for people stepping up in distance as well as those new to trail running.

A named event in the series, Pilgrim's Reckoning, is an 81 mile circular ultra on the Bunyan Trail in Bedfordshire. That event follows the route waymarked by the official Bunyan Way markers and has a 24 hour completion limit. On 13 March 2027 the Harrold Odell events offer two distances with marked and supported routes and generous cut-offs.
