Race The Light at Wendover Woods

Race The Light at Wendover Woods is a trail running event held on Saturday 18 July 2026 at Wendover Woods, Upper Icknield Way, Wendover HP22 5NQ. The event supports the Chilterns Neuro Centre and all proceeds will be donated to the centre.

The event offers multiple distances on trails within the woodland with no road crossings or gates. The routes are fully marked and marshalled using orange arrow markers and ribbons; participants do not need to carry a map or GPX. Terrain is trail with undulating sections; climbs are followed by long descents. Elevation is listed as 10km 250m+ and 5K 125m+. A 1.5K accessible loop follows a fully accessible path for wheelchair users.

Key event details include a maximum field of 500 runners, licensing by the Trail Running Association and UKA rules, and a list of on-course and event services. Aid provision includes water and sweets with a water stop approximately halfway on the 10K; cups and bins are provided. Facilities include toilets in the main building and no changing facilities. Dogs and canicross are not permitted.

A timed Friday event on a flat 5.3 km out-and-back course along the river Thames, with lap-based distances from 5 km to ultra and a £10 Run for a Tenner entry benefiting Rays of Sunshine.

A 50 km multi terrain ultramarathon around Maidenhead, run on a single lap route that follows the Thames Path and Jubilee River. The course is mostly off road with four aid stations, chip timing, live tracking and free race photos.

An 86 miles (139 km) point to point trail race along the full length of The Ridgeway National Trail from Ivinghoe Beacon to Avebury Stones. The event features open tracking, permanent signage and aid stations spaced along the route.

A 60 km point to point ultramarathon along the Ridgeway National Trail from Ivinghoe Beacon to near Wallingford, featuring open tracking, four aid stations and a 10 hour time allowance. Entries close 17 May 2026.
