Race The Light at Wendover Woods
Scheduled for 18 July 2026 at Wendover Woods (HP22 5NQ), this trail running event raises funds for the Chilterns Neuro Centre; all proceeds from the event are donated directly to the Centre. The event base is hosted by Forestry England.
Distances
- 10K Trail: 10 km, 250m+ elevation, hilly trails.
- 5K Trail: 5 km, 125m+ elevation.
- 1.5K Trail: accessible loop for wheelchair users, walkers and under 12s.
Both the 5K and 10K routes take place entirely on trails within Wendover Woods with no road crossings or gates. The course is fully marked and marshalled with orange arrow markers and ribbons; participants do not need to carry a map or GPX. Navigation is supported by marshals and signage. There is a water stop about halfway on the 10K and aid stations provide water and sweets; cups and bins are provided.
Entries are priced from £16 and entries close 17/07/26. Maximum field is 500 runners. Minimum ages are 12+ for the 5K and 16+ for the 10K; under 12s may enter the non-competitive 1.5K. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Facilities include chip timing with live results, finishers medals, medical support, marked routes, discounted car parking, bag drop and toilets in the main building. Dogs are not permitted.
