Event Overview

Race The Light at Wendover Woods is a Saturday evening trail run set for 18th July 2026. The event takes place within Wendover Woods in Buckinghamshire. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Chilterns Neuro Centre, a charity supporting people affected by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, and stroke.

Distances and Route

Participants can choose from three distance options:

  • 10K Trail - A hilly route with 250m+ of elevation gain.
  • 5K Trail - A shorter, hilly route with 125m+ of elevation gain.
  • 1.5K Accessible Trail - A shorter, non-competitive loop on a fully accessible path for wheelchair users, walkers, and participants under 12 only.

The course is entirely on trails inside the woodland with no road crossings. The terrain is described as a mix of paths with undulation and some hill climbs followed by long descents. The route is fully marked with signage and marshals, so carrying a map is not required.

Participation and Logistics

The event is open to runners, walkers, and wheelchair users. The minimum age is 16 for the 10K and 12 for the 5K. Dogs or canicross are not permitted. A water station is provided approximately halfway through the 10K route. Entry includes a finisher medal, chip timing with live results, medical support, and access to a bag drop. Toilet facilities are available on site, but there are no changing facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
