The format uses a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out and back lap along the River Thames towpath. The surface is off road trail on a riverside towpath and the overall course has no elevation gain or loss. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the event time limit, and the minimum distance is one lap.

Distances offered include:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon
  • Ultra

These PHOENIX Friday events use flexible "rock up and run" start times and are presented as smaller events than the organiser's weekend events, with a lower themed entry fee. For the specific Run for a Tenner charity runs a double sided Rays of Sunshine finisher medal is provided, and all participants in attended and virtual options receive a giveaway medal or memento. Distance restrictions for participants aged 20 or under apply in line with UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
