Dunstable Downs Challenge Half Marathon

The Dunstable Downs Challenge Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 23 August 2026 and is organised by Dunstable Road Runners. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association with reference number 7917 and is run under UK Athletics rules. Members of affiliated clubs may claim a two pound entry discount by selecting affiliated and entering their club name.

The route starts at Creasey Park and runs onto the Dunstable Downs across rural trails and surrounding areas. Runners use mainly public footpaths and bridleways with occasional sections on quiet country lanes. The course is self navigated with checkpoints and guide runners at target paces. A GPX file is available and its use is encouraged.

Facilities at the event base include ample toilets and changing areas, supervised baggage drop, and car parking. Hot and cold refreshments are available to purchase. There are drinks stations on the course and at the finish and medical provision will be in place. Finishers receive a medal.

A 10 km trail race at Marlow Rugby Club on May 25, part of the Ales & Trails series, featuring trails, woodland and Thames towpath. Entry includes a medal, a Rebellion pint cup and a free drink at the finish.

A 50 km multi terrain ultramarathon around Maidenhead, run on a single lap route that follows the Thames Path and Jubilee River. The course is mostly off road with four aid stations, chip timing, live tracking and free race photos.

An 86 miles (139 km) point to point trail race along the full length of The Ridgeway National Trail from Ivinghoe Beacon to Avebury Stones. The event features open tracking, permanent signage and aid stations spaced along the route.

A 60 km point to point ultramarathon along the Ridgeway National Trail from Ivinghoe Beacon to near Wallingford, featuring open tracking, four aid stations and a 10 hour time allowance. Entries close 17 May 2026.
