Petzl Night Trails 10k - Coombe Abbey

The event takes place on 30 September 2025 at Coombe Abbey Park, Coventry (CV3 2AB). The park is on the outskirts of Coventry and is about 6 minutes from Junction 2 of the M6; the closest train station is Coventry. Parking on site costs up to £3 for 1-2 hours and there is a toilet block next to the event HQ.

The race is a trail distance of 10k. The route runs through woodland, meadow and grass fields and includes exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces and a few gates to navigate. The course is described as undulating but not hilly. Surface conditions will vary with weather and may be muddy or hard; GPS watches may record slightly different distances.

Race details and services

A head or chest torch is required to take part; Petzl will attend with demo head torches. Dogs are not permitted because the course includes a tighter out-and-back section. Organisers will provide biodegradable cups with water and electrolyte on the course; runners may bring a collapsible cup but this is not required. There is an effective cut-off of two hours based on medic cover and daylight considerations. Entry fees are tiered: before 30/08/2025 £16, after 30/08/2025 £21; unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. The event partners with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and entrants can opt to set up fundraising or add a donation, with 100% of that donation going to the charity. A medal and goodies are provided, with an alternative Tree Token option that funds tree planting and contains wildflower seeds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
