Clipston Trail Races : Clipston Recreation Ground

The Clipston Trail Races take place on trails in the countryside around Clipston, with runs organised by Race Harborough in association with the Clipston Recreation Field Trust. The event supports maintenance and development of the local recreation field and its facilities, including woodland areas, play equipment and the pavilion.

Two distances are offered:

  • Half Marathon
  • Country 5 Miler (about 5 miles)

The course starts opposite the pavilion and immediately climbs into the surrounding countryside. Routes follow bridleways, footpaths and short sections of minor country roads, with the final section from Kelmarsh back to Clipston on a footpath. The total ascent on the course is 237 m. Participants should expect varied underfoot conditions and open countryside views.

Practical details include entry fees of £25 for the half marathon and £18 for the 5 mile event, and a minimum age of 17 on race day. There are water stations on course (four on the half marathon, one on the 5 mile); runners are asked to bring a reusable cup. Finishers receive a medal and a homemade cake provided by village volunteers and the Clipston W.I. The route and a GPX file are available from the organiser.
