Clipston Trail Races

Event overview

Clipston Trail Races take place on 20 September 2026 and are organised by Race Harborough with support from the Clipston Recreation Field Trust. The event includes trail running on local bridleways, footpaths and short sections of minor country roads around Clipston, Market Harborough. The total ascent on the half marathon course is 237 m. The start and finish are at Clipston Recreation Ground, Station Road, Clipston, Market Harborough LE16 9RN.

Distances and entry

• Half Marathon - entry fee £25.00
• Country 5 Miler - entry fee £18.00

Competitors must be at least 17 years old on the day of the race. Bookings made before the end of 2025 are entered into a draw to win a TrailKube. Online entries close the Wednesday before the race and entry transfers close the Sunday before the race.

Course, support and facilities

Both courses begin opposite the pavilion and head uphill into the countryside, with the half marathon finishing along a footpath from Kelmarsh back to Clipston. There are four water stations on the half marathon route and one on the 5-miler; participants are asked to bring their own cup for refills. Number and timing chip collection is available on race morning from registration. Free parking is available on-site in the field opposite the Recreation Ground. The event is not suitable for canicross due to working farms.

Prizes and community

All finishers receive a medal and homemade cake provided by the local Clipston W.I. Funds raised contribute to maintenance and development of Clipston Recreation Ground facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
