Clipston Trail Races

Clipston Trail Half and Country 5 Miler

Held Sunday, 20th September 2026 at Clipston Recreation Ground near Market Harborough, this event comprises a half marathon and a country 5 mile run on local trails.

The races are organised in conjunction with the Clipston Recreation Field Trust. Funds raised support maintenance and development of the playing fields, woodland, play equipment and pavilion including future replacement of the tennis courts.

The course starts opposite the pavilion and immediately climbs into the countryside. Participants run on bridleways with short sections on minor country roads; the final section from Kelmarsh back to Clipston follows a footpath. The route offers views of the Northamptonshire countryside and total ascent is 237 m.

Entry fees are listed as £25.00 for the half marathon and £18.00 for the 5 mile. Competitors must be at least 17 on the day. Online entries close the Wednesday before the race and entry transfers close the Sunday before the race. Those who book for 2026 before the end of 2025 are entered into a draw to win a TrailKube.

Race packs will not be posted; number and timing chip collection opens on race morning. There are medals and homemade cakes for all finishers. Four water stations serve the half marathon and one serves the 5 mile; participants are asked to bring a cup. Free parking is available on site.
