Clipston Trail Races

The Clipston Trail Races take place at Clipston Recreation Ground, Station Road, Clipston, Market Harborough. The event is organised by Race Harborough in conjunction with the Clipston Recreation Field Trust to raise funds for maintenance and facility development, including future tennis court replacement. Competitors must be at least 17 on race day.

Distances

  • Half marathon
  • Country 5 Miler (about 5 miles)

Course and race format

Both routes start opposite the pavilion and move into the surrounding countryside. The course uses bridleways with short sections on minor country roads; the final stretch from Kelmarsh back to Clipston is on a footpath. Total height gained on the course is 237 m. A GPX course file is available from the organiser. Finishers receive a medal and a homemade cake.

There are four water stations on the half marathon route and one on the 5-miler. The race crosses working farms and is not suitable for canicross. Numbers and timing chips can be collected on race morning; race packs are not posted. Free parking is available in the field opposite the recreation ground; participants are asked to follow marshal directions.
