Trail Running calendar near Marsh Lane 2026-2027

The Alyn Waters Winter Trails will take place in Gwersyllt on Saturday 5 December 2026. You can run between 5 and 10 kilometers.

A lapped run at Burrs Country Park on mixed trail with a seven hour limit. The first 50 entries receive a limited edition yellow Phoenix soft toy and all participants receive a medal.

Take on the Cardington Cracker, a 9 mile fell race near Church Stretton with 793 m of climb and breathtaking Border views. Pre entry only and limited parking mean early sign up is essential for this rugged, rewarding test.

The Cannock Chase Forest Christmas 10K will take place in Rugeley on Sunday 6 December 2026. You can run between 5 and 10 kilometers.

A festive trail event at Chasewater Country Park offering 10k, 5k and a junior run around the reservoir. Mostly flat compacted trails, prizes including best dressed fancy dress, and funds raised for Shelter.

A timed multi-terrain event at Ferry Meadows with 5.3 km laps on gravel and grass. Runners choose a four or six hour format, complete as many laps as possible, have aid each lap and receive a bespoke finisher medal.

Run the Trail by Torchlight in Llangollen: an 8 km fell race over scenic starlit moor with about 244 m ascent. Bring a head torch and enjoy a lively night race open to runners aged 16 and over.

Trail races of 12, 19 and 32 miles take place at Otley Cricket Club on 12 December 2026. Entrants must be 18 or older; the event limits numbers to 100, uses trackers and provides checkpoints plus a finisher medal and event T shirt.

Moors The Merrier 21 is a scenic yet testing fell race of 21 miles across the South West Pennines from Hebden Bridge Golf Club. Expect moorland vistas, festive fun with a Santa hat and small gift tradition, plus post race hot meal.

Three looped routes around Holmfirth start and finish at Brockholes Village Hall, with options of 11.6, 7.2 and 4.2 mile loops. Entrants may do one or more loops in order and the event includes basic catering and a finish certificate.

Festive trail races at Sherwood Pines near Mansfield include a family 1 mile plus 5km and 10km options with canicross permitted on the longer distances. Live chip timing, medals and seasonal treats are provided to finishers.

A seasonal trail event at Salcey Forest offering 10k, 5k and a 1.2 km junior run on tree lined, mostly flat forest trails. The race raises funds for Shelter and includes a bespoke medal and free photographs.

Trail runs at Wyre Forest on 13 December 2026 include family 1 mile, 5km and 10km options; canicross is allowed in the 5km and 10km. Finishers receive medals and seasonal treats, and subsidised parking is available on site.

The Moel Famau Festive 'Piece of String' Race will take place in Bwlch Penbarras on Saturday 19 December 2026. You can run 12 kilometers.

Run Fellrunner at Stoop at Penistone Hill near Haworth, an 8 km fell race with 250 m climb across the Pennine hills. Festive extras include a free Santa hat, Christmas prizes, a Curly Wurly for finishers and post race coffee.

Experience fast and furious junior fell racing through the old quarries of Penistone Hill. These short circuit races offer exciting scrambles for young runners from age six and up.

Night-time 5 km and 10 km runs at St Ives Estate, Bingley on 21 December 2026 with chip timing and a virtual option that includes a mailed medal. Reduced accompanied entry is available for 6-17 year olds.

A Boxing Day 7.8 km fell race from Totley AC with 270 m ascent, partially waymarked across Blacka and Totley Moor. Full FRA best-practice kit is required and proceeds support S6 foodbank and Edale Mountain Rescue.
