Ossett Brewery Mytholmroyd Fell Race

The Mytholmroyd Fell Race is an FRA licensed fell race of 6 miles (9.7 km) with approximately 1640 ft (500 m) of ascent. The course is flagged and passes a mix of fields, open moorland and rough tracks, including sections on Midgley Road and the Calderdale Way. Navigation may be required on open moorland sections.

The route starts by the bridge next to Burnley Road Primary School in Mytholmroyd (SE 011 262), climbs past Hill House Farm and Wicken Hill, crosses Midgley Moor to Churn Milk Joan, goes over Crow Hill (cut off for Crow Hill applies) and follows the Luddenden Valley up to Castle Carr before returning along moorland tracks to the start. Key checkpoints are recorded at Crow Hill (SE 022 276), the foot of steps (SE 022 291) and Calderdale Way (SE 011 285). A race map is published by the organisers.

The event is open only to entrants aged 18 and over. The race is licensed under UKA rules as a non GPS aided race; GPS devices may be used to record routes but not for navigation in normal competition. FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory and checked before number allocation; this includes waterproof full body cover (waterproof jacket with hood and waterproof trousers with taped seams), hat or buff, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food.

Organisers encourage travel by public transport. Parking is limited and a nearby car park is listed by the race HQ. Pre-entry and on-the-day entry fees apply and the on-the-day field is limited to 200 entries. Entrants receive a bottle of Ossett Brewery White Rat beer.
