Manchester - Feisty and Fluffy Phoenix - The Sequel
This event takes place on Saturday 05 December 2026 at Burrs Country Park, Woodhill Rd, Bury BL8 1DA. It is organised as a lapped event where participants may complete as many laps as they wish within a seven hour time limit.
One lap measures 3.28 miles (5.3 km). Typical distance examples are:
- 1 lap = 3.28 miles (5.3 km)
- 2 laps = 6.6 miles
- 4 laps = half marathon
- 8 laps = marathon
- 9 laps and over = ultra
The course is mostly hard packed trail and riverside trail. Elevation is approximately 187 ft per 3.28 mile lap. The running route may be adjusted for safety depending on weather conditions.
A well stocked aid station will be available throughout the day with items such as crisps, pretzels, cookies, biscuits, bananas, squash and water. Toilets and registration are at The Sunnywood Hub. There is plenty of public, mostly free, parking within Burrs Country Park.
A limited edition yellow Phoenix Manchester soft toy will be given to the first 50 entrants. All participants, including those taking part virtually, receive a giveaway medal or memento. The organiser will donate one pound per entry to The Sunnywood Project. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules.
