Cannock Chase Forest Christmas Run

The Cannock Chase Forest Christmas event features multiple distances set within the forest landscape of Staffordshire. The race takes place on undulating forest trails, providing a route through the trees at Birches Valley. Participants can choose between several distances:

  • 10 km
  • 5 km
  • Junior Fun Run

The course is a natural trail with varying terrain. The event emphasizes a seasonal atmosphere, and participants are encouraged to wear festive fancy dress. A prize is awarded for the best dressed runner in festive attire.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal and have access to free event photographs. Trophies and prizes are also awarded to the leading runners in the competitive distances. Registered entrants receive detailed event information prior to the race day.

The event serves as a fundraiser for Shelter, a charity that supports individuals experiencing homelessness or housing emergencies. The charity advocates for safe housing rights and assists families in emergency accommodation.

The race headquarters is located at the Cannock Chase Visitors Centre, with the start and finish lines situated near the Birches Valley Forest Centre and Go Ape. Reduced parking charges are available for participants. For those traveling by public transport, the Rugeley Town railway station is located 2.1 miles from the venue.
