The 20th Regular Irregular takes place on 13 December 2025 around Holmfirth, starting and finishing at Brockholes Village Hall, Brockholes, Holmfirth HD9 7EB. The event is organised by The Irregulars and invites participants to walk or run up to three looped routes in the local area.

Participants may do any number of loops but must complete them in order of length, longest first. Maps required - Explorer 288.

Entry, facilities and safety

Advance entry fees are LDWA £12 and Non-LDWA £15; on-the-day entry is £20 (cash only). Children under 16 accompanied by an adult enter free. Entrants include LDWA and non-LDWA walkers and runners. The event limit is 150 places; a wait list will operate when full.

Entry includes tea and toast at registration, snacks and cold drinks between loops, a meal at the finish and a certificate. Participants should bring their own mug. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control. U-18s must be LDWA members or walk with a parent or guardian; U-16s must walk with a parent or guardian.

The route crosses moorland, urban terrain and roads and takes place in early winter. Required kit includes waterproof clothing, a spare top, suitable footwear, a head or hand torch with spare batteries, a first aid kit, compass, whistle, a survival bag (not a blanket), and a route description and map.
