21st Regular Irregular

The event offers participants the choice to walk or run up to three looped routes around the Holmfirth area, with registration and the finish located at Brockholes Village Hall, Holmfirth (HD9 7EB). It is organised by an LDWA group and is scheduled for Saturday 12 December 2026.

Available loops:

  • Loop A 11.6 miles (18.5 km)
  • Loop B 7.2 miles (11.5 km)
  • Loop C 4.2 miles (6.7 km)

Participants may complete any number of loops but must do them in order of length, longest first, for safety and course sweeping reasons. There are cut off times for starting the shorter loops. The routes cover moorland, urban sections and roads and take place in early winter conditions. Maps are required and the recommended map is Explorer 288; electronic maps are allowed if downloaded and a backup power supply is available.

Entry details include advance fees of LDWA £12 and Non LDWA £15, on the day £20 cash only, and free entry for under 16s when accompanied by an adult. Entrant limit is 150 with a wait list when full. U-18s must be LDWA members or be accompanied by a parent or guardian; U-16s must be accompanied.

Mandatory equipment includes waterproof clothing, spare top, suitable footwear, a torch with spare batteries, first aid kit, compass, whistle, survival bag and route description and map. Dogs are allowed under constant control. Refreshments include tea and toast at registration, snacks and cold drinks between loops, a meal at the finish and a certificate. Participants who retire must do so at a checkpoint and marshals may withdraw participants for safety or timing reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
