21st Regular Irregular

This event offers walkers and runners the choice to complete up to three looped routes in the Holmfirth area, with start and finish at Brockholes Village Hall, Brockholes, Holmfirth. The event is organised by The Irregulars, an LDWA group.

Distances available:

  • 11.6 miles (18.5 km) Loop A
  • 7.2 miles (11.5 km) Loop B
  • 4.2 miles (6.7 km) Loop C

Participants may do any number of loops but must complete them in descending order of length for safety and course sweeping reasons. There are cut off times for starting some loops. Route descriptions are available to download and the recommended map is Explorer 288.

Entry fees are stated for advance and on the day entries; different rates apply for LDWA members and non members, and children under 16 accompanied by an adult enter free. Entry is limited to 150 participants and a wait list is used when the limit is reached. U18s must be LDWA members or be accompanied by a parent or guardian; under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed if kept under constant control.

The event crosses moorland, urban sections and roads and takes place in early winter conditions. Required equipment includes waterproof clothing, a spare top, suitable footwear, a torch with spare batteries, a first aid kit, compass, whistle, survival bag and a route description and map. Participants retiring must report at a checkpoint and marshals may withdraw participants for safety or schedule reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
