The 20th Regular Irregular takes place on 13 December 2025 at Brockholes Village Hall, Brockholes, Holmfirth HD9 7EB (GR SE153109). The event is organised by The Irregulars, a Local Walkers and Drivers Association (LDWA) group. Participants may walk or run up to three loop routes in the Holmfirth area. The loops are:

  • 11.6 miles / 18.5 km
  • 7.2 miles / 11.5 km
  • 4.2 miles / 6.7 km

Loops must be completed in order from the longest to the shortest. There are cut off times for starting Loop B and Loop C. Maps are required - Explorer 288 is recommended. The terrain includes moorland, urban sections and roads.

Participation, fees and requirements

Entries open 17 March 2025 and close 11 December 2025. Advance fees are LDWA £12 and Non-LDWA £15; on-the-day entry is £20 (cash only). Children under 16 accompanied by an adult enter free. Entry is limited to 150; a wait list is used when full. U-18s must be LDWA members or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control.

Entry includes tea and toast at registration, snacks and cold drinks between loops, a meal at the finish and a certificate. Mandatory kit includes waterproof clothing, spare top, suitable footwear, a head or hand torch with spare batteries, first aid kit, compass, whistle, survival bag, and a route description and map. Participants who retire must do so at a checkpoint. Marshals may withdraw participants for safety or schedule reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
