Cardington Cracker

The Cardington Cracker is a fell race of approximately 14.5 km (9 miles) with about 793 m of climb, starting from the Village Hall in Cardington near Church Stretton. The route is marked and marshalled except for the section off the first hill, The Lawley, which follows the obvious line down the spine of the hill. The course includes some short sections of road and three road crossings; participants should be aware of traffic.

The event is partially marked and requires significant fell running experience, local knowledge, and navigational skills. All competitors must carry the full FRA required kit for the duration of the race. The terrain can be wet, especially in December, so shoes with good grip are recommended. Summit conditions may be exposed and testing.

Water is available at the finish but there is no water provided on the course; a table is available at the finish for personal drink containers. Toilets are available at the Village Hall. Accommodation in the area is limited.

Entry is online only and limited to 180 places. Parking is limited and organisers request the use of official car parks within the village to avoid causing problems for residents. The event is insured by the FRA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
