Moors the Merrier 21

Moors the Merrier 21 is a winter walk and run held on Saturday 12th December 2026 around the moors of Hebden Bridge. The event uses a 21 mile circular route that starts and finishes at Mytholmroyd Community Centre.

The course is run anti clockwise and includes an ascent over the main hill before passing across Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor and Erringden Moor, with a downhill return to the community centre. Route maps, a GPX file and a published bad weather route are available for the event.

As a winter event, organisers require minimum equipment. Required items include a Santa hat, a present for the Bran Tub worth no more than £5, waterproof top and bottoms with taped seams and a hooded jacket, hat and gloves, map, compass and whistle, spare long sleeve top, spare food and drink, survival bag and headtorch. A plastic mug for hot drinks on route is optional.

Participants are offered a hot meal after the event and changing rooms with showers are available at the venue. Open Tracking was introduced from 2024 to allow progress to be followed. The 2026 entry fees are £35 for affiliated runners and £37 for unaffiliated runners.
