Moors The Merrier 21 takes place on Saturday 13 December 2025. The event is a pre-entry only 21-mile circular run or walk (about 34 km / 21.1 miles) with an ascent of about 3,900 ft (around 1,190 m). Entry is limited (places and waiting list used) and fees are listed as £33 (affiliated) and £35 (non-affiliated). Minimum age is 18. The event is run under UK Athletics rules and is licensed with the Trail Running Association and the Fell Running Association.

Route and kit

The anti-clockwise route starts and finishes at Hebden Bridge Golf Club, Great Mount, Wadsworth, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8PH, and crosses Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor and Erringden Moor, finishing with the climb back to the golf club. The route is not flagged and requires navigational skills; a GPX file and route description are provided. GPS devices are allowed as a safety backup. Mandatory winter kit includes a Santa hat and a present for the event bran tub, waterproof jacket and trousers (taped seams, hood), hat and gloves, map, compass and whistle, survival bag, headtorch, spare warm clothing and spare food and drink; a plastic mug is optional.

Facilities and support

The event is fully supported with staffed checkpoints and live tracking. Tea, coffee and toast are provided at the start; a hot meal (pie and peas and additional treats) is provided at the finish.
