The Moors the Merrier - Mytholmroyd Community Centre, Hebden Bridge
The Moors the Merrier is a winter 21-mile circular walk or run around the moors near Hebden Bridge, with approximately 3900 ft of ascent. The route is anti-clockwise and crosses Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor and Erringden Moor, finishing at Mytholmroyd Community Centre, Caldene Ave, Mytholmroyd HX7 5AF.
Entries open Monday 25 May 2026 and close Sunday 29 November 2026. Entry is limited to 400 participants and there are no entries on the day. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £35.00 and Non-affiliated £37.00. The event offers both a race and a walk/non-competitive run; the race minimum age is 18 and the event minimum age is 18.
The event is supported with staffed checkpoints, hot drinks available at the start, and a hot meal (pie and peas) at the finish. Additional facilities include changing rooms and showers at the community centre, a post-event bar, a raffle and a bran tub of presents. Tracking and live results are provided.
The route is not flagged and will require navigational skills; GPS devices are permitted as a safety backup and a GPX file is provided. Mandatory kit includes a Santa hat and a present for the bran tub (maximum £5), waterproofs with taped seams and hood, hat and gloves, map and compass and whistle, spare clothing and food, survival bag and headtorch.
