Course and race details

The route is a 21 mile circular course run anticlockwise. The course goes over Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor and Erringden Moor, then returns with a climb out of the valley to the golf club. FRA kit is the minimum kit requirement; no kit, no start. Because the event is at Christmas, competitors must include a Santa hat and bring a small present worth no more than £2 to hand in for the Bran Tub. Changing rooms with showers are available and an optional hot meal is offered after the event.

Entries, teams and insurance

Pre-entry is required; entry on the day is not available. Pre-entry fees are £35 for members and £37 for non-members. Teams are allowed with three to count. The race has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA.
