Moors The Merrier 21

Moors The Merrier 21 takes place on 12 December 2026 in the Hebden Bridge area. The event follows a circular route of 21 miles (34 km) with approximately 1220 m of ascent. The course is run anticlockwise and crosses multiple heather moors.

The route passes over Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor and Erringden Moor, includes a long climb out of the valley and finishes with a downhill return to the 2026 venue, Mytholmroyd Community Centre. A GPX file and detailed route description are provided for the course, and there is an alternative bad weather route.

As a winter event, participants must carry minimum equipment and meet the FRA kit requirements. Mandatory items include a Santa hat and a present to hand in for the Bran Tub, waterproofs with taped seams and a hood, hat and gloves, map, compass and whistle, a survival bag, headtorch, spare long sleeve top, spare food and drink, and a plastic mug for hot drinks if desired. The organisers use Open Tracking for competitor monitoring.

Entry for 2026 is listed at £35. Teams are permitted with three to count, the minimum age is 18, and the event holds a permit with associated insurance. Changing rooms with showers are available and a hot meal is offered after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
