Trail Running Calendar Wales 2026-2027

A mountain running weekend in Rhyd-Ddu, Eryri / Snowdonia on 15 August 2026 with four skyraces from 16 km to 55 km over high, technical terrain.

Annual mixed terrain running event in Tywyn with multiple course options including the Rotary Challenge. The race publishes past results, offers volunteer roles and merchandise, and runs alongside the Talyllyn Railway.

A 9.8 km traverse near Pontypool with a 291 m climb, junior race distances and three-person team entries.

A 5.5 mile multi-terrain fell run around Pen Y Gwely reservoir that starts and finishes within a traditional village show near Oswestry. The partially marked route climbs 225 m, requires limited experience, and has an over 15 minimum age; e..

Two trail races through the mountains of Afan Forest Park, about 6.5 miles or 10.5 miles with significant climbs. Online entry, chip timing, marshalled route, finishers receive a t shirt and medal.

A 10 mile trail race through Radnor forest in Mid Wales on 23 August 2026, held in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit in Hereford. The route reaches Black Mixen at 2130 ft and includes forestry roads, moorland and tree covered single track.

A guided trail run meeting at the Ponderosa cafe that follows an around 7 km route on Llantysilio Mountain via Moel y Faen and Moel y Gamelin. The run moves at a steady pace with regular regrouping stops.

Point-to-point ultras along the Cambrian Way into Cardiff, offered as 44- and 33-mile options with self-navigation, live tracking, indoor aid stations, and on-route support.

An approximately 8 km fell race in North Pembrokeshire with about 320 m of climb and a partially marked course. Junior races run in several age categories and entry fees are modest.

A 11.3 km fell race with 350 m ascent near Mynachlog-ddu and Rosebush. The partially marked course requires navigational skills and experience. Entry is £5 pre-entry or £7 on the day and includes tea and cake.

A hill race near Porthmadog covering 7.2 km with 564 m of ascent, partially marked and requiring navigational skills and experience. Entry is day only for £5 and teams may enter free.

A 9 mile fell race with about 2,800 ft of ascent visiting Tal y Fan and Moel Lus, featuring five ordered checkpoints and a cut off at CP2. Entry is limited to 100 and online registration opens 1/6/26.

A 7 km fell race with 365 m of ascent in Machen on 31 August 2026. The route runs on steep, loose terrain so trail or fell shoes are recommended and entry is on the day with a £7 fee and age limit over 18.

A 7.4 km mountain race in the Clwydian Range with 380 m ascent, junior events, regional championship status and on-site facilities.

Coastal ultra events on Anglesey offering a 130-mile clockwise island circumnavigation and a separate ~47-mile coastal route along the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path.

A multi-terrain off-road race of about 4 miles in Shotton on 4 September 2026, with pre-entry fees (£10, £8 affiliated), prize categories by age, a minimum age of 17, and a 200-person entry limit.

A new *15 mile* trail event in September 2026 on the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway Walk, with 2,267 ft of ascent, mostly off-road terrain, one fully stocked checkpoint and organised entry support from Rudry to Parc Penalta.
