Mini Beast of Bryn Fun Run

Organised by Afan Valley Swimming Club, the Mini Beast of Bryn is a children's fun run held on 23 August. The event is based at the Bryn Rugby Field starting arch, near Bryn Rugby and Social Club, Hillgrove, Bryn, Port Talbot SA13 2RR. Event headquarters are at Hillgrove, Bryn, Port Talbot SA13 2RR.

Young participants run an outward clockwise loop across a field, exit through a gate and follow the left-hand path up the hill toward Penhendy Farm. At the turnaround they perform a 180° turn, run back down the hill into the field and cross the finish line where spectators gather. The route is approximately 1 mile long and uses a mixture of grass and tarmac with flat sections, uphill and downhill stretches.

The entry fee is £5 and includes a finishers' medal and a bag of sweets. Race numbers are available for collection at Bryn Community Centre from 14:00 to 16:00 on Saturday 22 August. Entrants arriving on the day can collect race numbers at Bryn Rugby and Social Club between 08:00 and 08:30. Parents may accompany children under 9 to encourage them.
