A 9.3 km fell race near Cwm, Ebbw Vale with 549 m of climb on moorland and a partly waymarked anticlockwise loop. Basic navigation and mountain skills are useful; the event is part of the South Wales Series.

August 2026

Experience a 50 mile ultra marathon around the historic Epynt Way in Wales. This trail event offers 8,559 feet of elevation and scenic views of the Brecon Beacons without any time limits.

Discover the Rose Run with Phoenix Running South Wales at Parc Taf Bargoed, a scenic multi terrain out and back with a repeatable 5.3 km lap to build distances from 5 km to ultra. Rock up and run with staggered starts and limited spots.

A new 2026 coastal trail event starting at Freshwater East and finishing in Saundersfoot, offering *25k* and *14k* routes along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with GPX course files and listed entry fees.

A fell race at the Llanthony Show Ground featuring a roughly 6.3 km adult course with 350 m of ascent and marked sections over fields and Offa's Dyke path. Multiple junior races run across U7 to U19 categories with on the day entry.

A family trail event at Porth Farm near Caersws featuring a one mile fun run and an approximate 5 km main race, with online entry and a listed closing date of 31 July 2026.

A multi-terrain club race on Thursday 6 August 2026 around Care & Repair, Rowley’s Drive, Shotton, covering approximately 4 miles. Pre-entry fees apply; entrants must be 17 or older and entries are limited.

A trail running event in the Brecon Beacons on 8 August 2026 offering 24K and 51K routes with marked kilometres, marshals, stocked aid stations, chip timing and a finisher medal. An event village provides food, drink and free race photos.

A long-established August event in NE Wales from Cilcain Village Hall offering 32 miles, 24 miles and 16 miles routes that follow the Clwydian Hills and the Offa's Dyke Path over Moel Famau. Walkers and runners are welcome.

A 12 or 24 hour hill and trail event on Moel Famau using a 7.51 km loop with 511 m ascent per lap. Solo runners and teams can complete as many laps as they choose while using on site camping and support facilities.

SkyRun Eryri in Rhyd-Ddu, Eryri/Snowdonia stages four mountain races from 16 km to 55 km on 15 August 2026, with large elevation gains, aid stations and a mix of ridgelines, scrambling and technical trails.

A multi-distance community running event in Tywyn on 15 August 2026, organised by the Rotary Club of Tywyn. Distances range from a toddlers run to a 14 mile challenge and entries close 10 August 2026.

Mynydd Maen Traverse is a running event near Pontypool featuring a 9.8 km route with 291 m of climb. It includes separate junior races and accepts team entries of three.

A 7.5 km fell race at Cwrt-y-Cadno Show fields with 264 m of climb. Entry to the show covers the £5 fee; the course is partially marked and open to those over 16.

A short but demanding downhill on Tryfan covering 1 km with 680 m climb, on rocky and exposed terrain. The race requires significant experience and expert navigation, and carries a small entry fee for Ogwen Mountain Rescue.

Great British Bake Run at Dare Valley Country Park pairs running with a baking competition and a cupcake magnet medal. Multiple distances and a 7 hour time challenge are offered, with aid tables, goody bags, parking and cafe facilities.

An 8.8 km (5.5 mile) fell run around Pen Y Gwely reservoir near Rhydycroesau, featuring tracks, paths and fields with 225 m of climb. The course is partially marked, entry is £7 on the day and the minimum age is over 15.
