Experience requirements differ by option: the full route requires three AL races or equivalent unmarked winter experience; the half route requires three AL or AM races or similar experience. A minimum kit list is specified and includes fully taped waterproofs top and bottom, warm layers, hat and winter gloves, bivvy bag, map, compass, 0.5 litre water bottle, food and emergency food, torch, whistle and mobile phone.
