Requirements, safety and logistics

The full course requires prior experience equivalent to three AL races that were unmarked; the half requires three AL/AM races or similar experience. A minimum kit list is specified and includes fully taped waterproofs top and bottom, two warm layers, long-sleeve base layer, full-length bottoms, hat, winter-weight gloves, bivvy bag, map, compass, at least 0.5 litre water bottle, food and emergency food, torch, whistle and mobile phone.
