International Snowdon Race (Râs Yr Wyddfa) 2026

The International Snowdon Race, listed as the 49th running of Ras yr Wyddfa, takes place on Saturday 18 July 2026. The course length is 15.35 km with a recorded elevation gain of 994 m. The route comprises 7.16 km of ascent, 7.19 km of descent and about 1 km of flat terrain. The average ascent grade is 13.4 percent with a maximum of 32 percent.

Entry and administration are managed online through TDL Events. Registration for past entrants opens 1 March 2026 and registration for all eligible runners reopens 15 March 2026; entries close automatically when the race limit is reached. The race operates a no refund policy. Changes of name or entrant details are permitted up to 8 June 2026; after that date no changes are possible.

Competitors must be at least 18 years old and have mountain running experience or prior participation in a mountain race. Race regulations require that race numbers be collected in person and displayed on the front of the vest. Electronic timing is fitted to the race number. Retiring runners should report to a marshal or the finish line where possible. A cut off of 1 hour 05 minutes at Clogwyn applies in all conditions and organisers may require windproof or waterproof body cover plus hat and gloves in adverse weather. Mynydd Mawr is a midweek race near Caernarfon covering 6.7 km with 450 m of ascent, part of the North Wales Mid Week Series. Navigational skills are required; preregistration is requested and a day-entry fee of £2 applies.

A mountain fell race of 13 km and 1550 m ascent finishing at Yr Wyddfa Summit, requiring navigational skills and prior mountain experience. Registration is in Llanberis with compulsory coach transfer to the Ogwen start.

A long fell race of 32 km with 2870 m ascent finishing at Yr Wyddfa Summit that requires navigational skill and significant mountain experience; pre-entry includes coach travel, GPS tracking and a souvenir mug.

A midweek fell race at Tyddyn Llwyn Camp Site near Porthmadog, covering 5.9 km with 349 m climb. The AS-classified course is partly waymarked, part of the North Wales Mid Week Series, and includes junior categories.
