The Milkshake Meander - Wales

The Milkshake Meander is a seven hour Time Challenge held at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare. The event runs on well maintained footpaths with views of the surrounding countryside and is suitable for road trainers. The course layout may be adjusted close to the event for health and safety reasons.

Participants choose how many laps to complete within seven hours. The minimum recognised distance is 3 km. A full lap measures about 7 km (4.37 miles) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. A half marathon equals three laps, a marathon six laps, and an ultra requires seven laps or more; a 50 km option is also available.

Medals are awarded to anyone who completes at least 3 km, and distance pins are given for half-marathon and longer finishes, including Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins. Finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan goody bag available.

An aid and drinks table is provided at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of drinks, snacks and ice cream, including vegan options. The venue offers toilets and a cafe near race HQ but no separate changing facilities or showers. Free parking is available. Only bone conducting headphones are allowed. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
