Rabbit Run Wales

Rabbit Run Wales is a series of trail races held on the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate on the South Wales coast. The event uses paths through the Merthyr Mawr Warren National Nature Reserve, an area noted for its dunes and wildlife.

Routes include sandy dune sections, hills and valleys, and at least one river crossing. The course passes the Big Dipper, identified as the highest sand dune in Wales. The longer route also follows sections of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast with cliffs and secluded coves.

Race options include:

  • 12K (7.5 mile) trail race across dunes, hills, valleys and a river crossing
  • 40K (25 mile) trail race including the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Merthyr Mawr trails
  • Family races: Bunny, Double Bunny and Toddler Dash

The event is delivered in partnership by the Merthyr Mawr Estate and Run 4 Wales. Results from previous editions are available and the event has included media such as course videos and a photo gallery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
