Cwmdare, United Kingdom • 20 Dec 2026

Event Overview

This is a festive running event held in December. The event is a fun run held at Dare Valley Country Park near Aberdare.

Distances

The event offers two distances on a lap-based course:

  • 2.5 km (1 lap)
  • 5 km (2 laps)

Both distances are open to participants of all ages. The course uses well-maintained footpaths within the country park and offers views of the surrounding countryside. The route may change depending on weather conditions.

Participant Experience

The event encourages festive fancy dress, though it is not compulsory. Prizes are awarded for costumes. Christmas music is played. Participants can run, walk, or dance. An aid station at the start/finish area provides drinks, mince pies, and sweets.

Every finisher receives a Christmas-themed medal and a festive goody bag. Participants must complete at least one lap to be an official finisher.

Venue and Logistics

Dare Valley Country Park provides free parking and toilets. A cafe serving hot drinks and food is located near the race headquarters. There are no separate changing facilities or showers.

A bag drop area is available at the start/finish, but it is not a secure area. Only bone-conducting headphones are permitted. Final race instructions are emailed approximately one week before the event. Race number collection occurs on the day at registration.

The event is organized on public footpaths, and participants are asked to be considerate of other path users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
