Llanthony Show Fell Race

Llanthony, United Kingdom • 1 Aug 2026

Llanthony Show Fell Race

The Llanthony Show Fell Race is held at the Llanthony Show Ground (SO289275) as part of the wider show. The event uses the show field for a start and finish and includes live commentary over the show PA. The course runs across fields, up through steep farmland and bracken onto open fell, follows a section of Offa's Dyke path, and returns by a steep, often rutted, descent to the event field. Most of the route is marked and some effort is made to clear a line through tall bracken on the climb. Narrow lanes to the venue can be congested with show traffic and the schedule may be subject to change.

Distances and ascents:

  • Adult: 3.9 miles / 6.3 km, 1150 ft / 350 m
  • U7 & U9: 1 km, 50 m
  • U11: 1.8 km, 130 m
  • U13: 2.9 km, 225 m
  • U15: 4.4 km, 325 m

Entry is on the day for most races. The adult race fee is £2 plus show entry; the race fee contributes to the show's first aid bill. Junior races follow age categories from U7 to U19 and include championship categories licenced by Welsh Athletics where applicable. Junior entry fees and concessions follow the event and WFRA guidance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
