Sedbury, United Kingdom • 19 Jul 2026
Wye Valley Tunnel Run : Wyedean School, Sedbury
The Wye Valley Tunnel Run offers multiple organised running options that use the Wye Valley Greenway and the refurbished Tidenham Tunnel. Courses follow the former railway line and riverside paths, so most of the surface is compact stone path or tarmac. The route is generally flat but not perfectly smooth and includes a short 50 m rocky trail section and a few flights of steps on the Tintern Station routes.
Distances
- Colourbust 500 m and 2 km fun runs on laps of the Wyedean School football pitch
- Valley View 10 km one lap, out-and-back with 2 km in tunnel
- Valley View Half Marathon two laps, out-and-back with 4 km in tunnel
- Tintern Station Half Marathon one lap, out-and-back with 2 km in tunnel
- Tintern Station Marathon two laps, out-and-back with 4 km in tunnel
Courses are clearly marked and marshalled. Wave starts of about 100 runners are used. Drink and feed provision varies by distance: there is one drinks station on the 6 km, at least one feast station on the 10 km, three on the half marathon and seven on the marathon; water, electrolyte drinks and a range of snacks are provided. There is a three hour cut off to start lap two of the marathon.
Facilities include on site toilets, a mobile coffee van and a bag drop; there are no changing rooms. All runners of 5 km and longer receive a two sided 10 cm x 10 cm event medal; fun run medals may vary. Group entry discounts and buggy access rules are published for specific races. The event is not open to canicross runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
