Phoenix: South Wales - Rose Run

The event takes place on Saturday 1 August 2026 at Rock UK Summit Centre, Parc Taf Bargoed, Trelewis, Merthyr Tydfil, CF46 6RD. It is organised by Phoenix Running South Wales. Places are strictly limited.

Course and format

The event uses a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out-and-back lap. Participants may choose how far to go and can complete multiple laps within a 7-hour time limit. The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles). Distances offered include:

The course is multi-terrain: most of the route is on tarmac paths with about 0.5 miles on a riverside trail. Each lap has approximately 37 m elevation gain and loss.

The event operates a flexible 'rock up and run' start format and offers staggered starts. A Welsh Athletics race license has been applied for. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under, in line with UK Athletics rules.

Entry fees listed include an affiliated and an unaffiliated price, and a no-medal entry option from £20 is available. Regular entries include a finishers medal and event services such as aid stations, same-day results, athlete profiles, digital BIBs, and digital finishers certificates.
