Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme

The Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme is a challenging 47.5-mile (75 km) winter mountain ultramarathon held in Wales, traversing 11 peaks from Brecon to Cardiff with approximately 2,680 meters of ascent. It demands excellent winter mountain running skills and fitness. The route starts at Brecon’s canal basin, climbing South Britain's highest peak, Pen Y Fan, and continues through rugged terrain, including steep climbs, forest trails, and valley crossings, finishing at Coleg Y Cymoedd near Cardiff. A shorter Taff Xtreme Marathon covers the latter half from Merthyr to Cardiff, featuring 1300 meters of ascent.
