Nantgarw, United Kingdom • 1 Mar 2026
Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme is a winter mountain ultramarathon, a 75-km linear challenge from Brecon to Cardiff (about 47 miles) with roughly 2,700–2,800 m of ascent, including 11 summits such as Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Fan y Big. The Taff Xtreme Marathon is the second half, a 26.2-mile leg from Merthyr to Cardiff with around 1,300 m of ascent, ideal as a stepping stone to ultraruns. The routes weave mountain trails, forestry tracks and the Glamorgan Way, with indoor Merthyr CP3, a stop at Pontypridd’s Honky Tronk and finish at Coleg y Cymoedd. Navigation is self-reliant, GPS-tracked, with several checkpoints and Welsh hospitality. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
