Trails & Tarmac Backyard Ultra

Trails & Tarmac Backyard Ultra takes place on 6 February 2027 as part of the Limitless Trails BYU series. The event uses a repeated loop format on a 4.2 mile circuit that is roughly half trail and half tarmac. The route includes one gradual climb and a short steep section, with the remainder described as relatively flat terrain.

Participants must complete each loop within one hour to have it counted. Loop starts occur precisely one hour apart with three, two, and one minute warnings before each start, and all competitors must start on the bell. Except for restroom breaks, runners must remain on course until a loop is completed. No non-competitors or eliminated runners are allowed on the course. Personal aid during a loop is not permitted; a common aid station will be available at headquarters. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are not allowed.

Medals will be awarded to anyone who reaches 32 miles. The last person to complete a loop is designated the winner and will receive a trophy. Timing will be provided and results will record distance covered. The event is open ended.

On-site services and facilities include medics, showers and toilets, event photography, parking at HQ with a £5 fee that enters a ballot, basic camping within walking distance, and a GPX file for the course. A post-race sauna and ice bath service is listed locally. An entry fee of £100 is shown. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
