The Nightmare Before Xmas Trail ½ Marathon is scheduled for 19 December 2026 at the Bridgend Miniature Railway Centre in Aberkenfig, Tondu (Bridgend, CF32 9BZ). The event is organised by Mad Running Junkies. Entries open 25 December 2025 and close 18 December 2026. The minimum age is 17. Entry fees are listed as £30 for entry only and £60 for entry with a t-shirt. Entry is limited to 70 participants.
Course and facilities
The route is a trail half marathon that includes a portion of an 8-mile route followed by about five additional miles. The course uses mixed terrain with a steep hill, a road section with views, a downhill forestry trail that can be technical, and muddy and waterlogged sections. The course will be fully marked.
Facilities and provisions include car parking, toilet facilities, a bespoke medal, hot and cold drinks and snacks, mince pies, Christmas cake and Christmas crackers. A medical team and event volunteers will be present. There is a prize for the best and most imaginative Christmas fancy dress costume; participants must run in their costume.
