Nightmare Before Xmas Trail ½ Marathon

The Nightmare Before Xmas Trail ½ Marathon is a trail running event on Saturday 19 December 2026 at Bridgend Miniature Railway Centre, Fountain Road, Aberkenfig, Tondu, Bridgend CF32 9BZ. Entry is limited to 70 participants and the minimum age is 17. Entries open 5 December 2025 and close 18 December 2026. Entry fee options listed are Entry only (£30) and Entry & T-shirt (£60).

The course requires participants to complete an initial 8-mile section called The Hateful Eight. This section follows mixed terrain and includes a steep hill, a road section with views, and a downhill forestry trail that can be technical. After that there are about 5 and a bit extra miles featuring mud, water and a steep section referred to as the Hill of Doom, before a final flat muddy mile to the finish. The course will be fully marked.

Included for entrants are car parking, toilet facilities, a bespoke medal, hot and cold drinks and snacks including mince pies and Christmas cake, medical cover and volunteer support. There is a prize for the best and most imaginative Christmas fancy dress costume; entrants should note they will need to run in any costume they wear.
