Nightmare Before Xmas Trail ½ Marathon

The event takes place on 19 December 2026 at Bridgend Miniature Railway Centre, Fountain Road, Aberkenfig, Tondu. Entry is restricted to participants aged 17 or older and the field is limited to 70 places. Fees listed are £30 for entry only and £60 for entry with a T-shirt.

The route is a mixed terrain trail that begins with the organisers' Hateful Eight 8 mile section and continues with about five additional miles to complete the half marathon. The course includes a significant hill, a road section with notable views, a downhill forestry trail that can be technical on some days, mud and water sections, and a final flat muddy mile to the finish. The route will be fully marked.

Race services and event provisions include on-site parking, toilet facilities, hot and cold drinks, snacks including mince pies and Christmas cake, a bespoke medal for finishers, a medical team and event volunteers. There is a prize for the best and most imaginative Christmas fancy dress, with the requirement that participants run in their costume. Join the award winning Cosmeston Relays for a team competition at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park. Teams of three tackle an undulating three mile circuit in this popular chip timed baton race.
