Ring O' Fire 130

The Ring O' Fire 130 starts and finishes at Breakwater Country Park, Holyhead, and is a full clockwise circumnavigation of the island following the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. The event covers 130 miles (209 km) over three days with nine checkpoints. Runners must check in and out of each checkpoint and meet mandatory cut-off times or be withdrawn. The route is predominantly trail with some quiet public roads, gates, and stiles. Terrain includes sandy and pebble beaches, steep cliff-top paths, headlands, rocky coves, sand dunes, farmland, forest sections, and seaside villages. Total vertical ascent and descent is over 13,000 feet (4,000 meters). The highest point on the route is Holyhead Mountain (Mynydd Twr) at 720 feet (220 meters).

Firelighter 50

The Firelighter 50 starts at Breakwater Country Park, Holyhead, and finishes at Moelfre, joining the main event field at the start and following the coastal path clockwise. The course covers nearly 47 miles (76 km) with three checkpoints; runners must check in and meet mandatory cut-offs. This section is mainly trail with quiet roads, gates, and stiles and features many undulations along headlands. Total vertical ascent and descent is about 4,500 feet (1,372 meters). A paid bus service is available from Moelfre to the race start to allow cars to be left at Moelfre. Free parking is provided in a designated area on the approach road to Breakwater Country Park; the car park is unsupervised and vehicles are left at the owner’s risk. Tour De Yr Wyddfa is an epic winter loop around Yr Wyddfa, climbing 2327 m on the full 43.5 km route. Solo, pair or two leg relay entries are welcome, but runners must meet mountain experience and kit requirements for safety.
