A multi-distance trail event at Fyvie Castle raising funds for the Fyvie Parent Council, featuring 5 km, 1600 m and 800 m races with medals, timed results for selected races, and refreshments on site.

Tom's Cairn Trail Races is a community organised fundraiser in Finzean on 20 September 2026 featuring trail races across estate woods and the cairn. The event includes local refreshments, a piper and live music.

An off road hill race around Bennachie near Insch covering about 8.2 miles with 500 m of ascent. Organised by Garioch Roadrunners under a Scottish Hill Runners licence, the event is chip timed and has limited entries.

Charity run at Maggie's Forth Valley on 20 Sep 2026 featuring scenic 5K and 10K forest routes around Maggies Pond that finish at the Maggie’s Centre. Fundraising is optional and proceeds support Maggie’s Forth Valley.

Trail ultras across the Ochil Hills with 30 and 50 mile options plus a limited 100 mile event. Marked routes, chip timing, GPS tracking, checkpoints with water and drop-bag support; finishers receive medals and category prizes.

A 30 km hill race from Traquair House to Broughton Ales across the Scottish Borders with roughly 1500 m of ascent. The route uses hill tracks and open heather, has eight marshalled checkpoints and requires mandatory emergency kit.

October 2026

An off-road multisport race from Kinlochleven that includes a Loch Leven swim, mountain/gravel bike sections on the West Highland Way and a run up Ben Nevis, covering 73 km with substantial elevation.

Mud Madness at Chatelherault Country Park on 4 October 2026 offers a 1 km kids course and a 5 km family mud run with obstacles, water hazards and staggered waves, plus on-site parking, registration t-shirts and finishers' medals.

A 57 mile ultramarathon from Glasgow to Edinburgh with live GPS tracking, staffed checkpoints and strict kit and qualifying requirements. The mostly canal and towpath route passes the Falkirk Wheel and the Antonine Wall.

A 50k mostly off-road ultramarathon on Bennachie with over 5000 ft of ascent, visiting multiple peaks and starting and finishing at the Bennachie Visitor Centre. Pre-entry only with 150 places and a 4 hour cut-off at about 19 miles.

The Aberfoyle Festival of Trail Running will take place in Aberfoyle on Saturday 10 October 2026. You can run between 21 and 63 kilometers.
