Salomon Skyline Scotland 2026

Salomon Skyline Scotland takes place at Nevis Range near Fort William across the weekend of 18 to 20 September 2026. The event comprises multiple mountain and trail races organised around the Lochaber area, with courses that span short trail formats up to extended ultra distances.

The programme includes races such as the Skyline Scotland 100M and 100K, a 50 mile Grand Tour, the Steall Ultra 50K, and shorter mountain events. Distances available cover a wide range to suit different event choices.

Event services and on-site features planned for the Nevis Range arena include commentary and large spectator screens, live streaming and online tracking, local food and drink traders, a partner expo, a grand prize giving ceremony and an evening party. The Ben Nevis Skyline was selected as a 2025 Golden Trail World Series qualifier race.

Salomon Skyline Scotland was established in 2015, moved to Kinlochleven in 2016 and relaunched in 2025. Historically it has featured in series such as the Skyrunning World Series and Golden Trails World Series and has attracted more than 2,000 participants from up to 50 countries, producing measurable economic impact for the Lochaber region. A 400 km, eight day expedition through remote Highland landscapes from Knoydart and Kintail to Cape Wrath, with daily tented camps. The Cape Wrath 100 offers a three day version covering the final stages.

A point to point 96 mile ultra along the West Highland Way from Fort William to Milngavie with nine support locations and race trackers. An optional Ben Nevis extension raises the distance to 107 miles and adds significant mountain ascent.

A 31 miles ultra around Loch Lyon and into Glen Lochay with about 3,500 ft of ascent. The mostly off road route includes several river crossings, multiple water checkpoints and mandatory kit requirements.

A mountain hill race in the Western Mamores covering about 13 km and 1300 m of ascent over two Munro summits. The unmarked, clockwise route starts and finishes near Lower Falls and requires mandatory mountain safety kit.
