The ROC Scotland

The ROC Scotland is a multi-discipline endurance event held in the Highlands, starting and finishing in Kinlochleven. The course spans a total distance of 73 km and features a total elevation gain of 7,874 ft, which represents the highest elevation gain of all events in this series.

The event structure consists of five distinct stages:

  • 1 km swim in Loch Leven.
  • 27 km mountain or gravel bike leg.
  • 17 km mountain run up Ben Nevis and back.
  • 27 km mountain or gravel bike leg.
  • 1.5 km trail run to the finish line.

The cycling portion follows the West Highland Way toward Fort William, traversing varied mountain terrain. The central running segment requires participants to summit Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom. A mountain cut-off time is enforced at 12:30 pm for those on the peak.

The race starts at Leven Road in Kinlochleven. Participants use mountain or gravel bikes for the cycling stages to navigate the terrain.
