Ochil Ultra
The Ochil Ultra is a trail-running event on the Ochil Hills offering long and short ultra distances and a separate 100-mile event in 2026. The 2026 programme includes the ninth running of the Ochil Ultra (30 and 50 miles) and the fourth Ochil 100, scheduled for 26 September 2026.
Routes run end to end across the Ochils and use the Core Path Network. Key features include:
- 50 miles: Stirling to Perth, solo or as a team relay
- 30 miles: Auchterarder to Perth
- 100 miles: Perth to Stirling and back, limited entry with qualification
The event is a marked and marshalled trail with chip timing and GPS tracking. Water is provided at checkpoints and drop bags are conveyed to checkpoints at approximately ten mile intervals. All finishers receive a medal and there are prizes for top finishers by category. Finish-area services include refreshments, toilets, sports massage and professional photography. Photos from previous years are made available.
Organisers state generous cut-offs but reserve the right to retire runners for safety and to direct late runners onto a diversion route that avoids the final hill. The Ochil 100 requires prior completion of a 50-mile or longer ultra within twelve hours and expects entrants to have a support crew. Compulsory kit includes a head torch, whistle, mobile phone, emergency blanket, emergency food and drink, and the issued GPS tracker. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
