Maggie's 5K & 10K Chase is a charity running event on 9 November 2025 that starts and finishes within Kinnaird Village. The event offers two out-and-back races:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km

The 5 km turning point is at Plane Castle (FK2 8SF). The 10 km turning point is a further 2.5 km beyond the 5 km turnaround. A water station will be available at the 5 km turning point. The course runs on scenic trails and mixed surfaces, varying from flat paths to gentle inclines and some tarmacked sections. The route will be fully marked and supported by volunteers. Manual timing will be used. Water and fruit are provided, and recyclable paper cups will be available; organisers request participants bring refillable cups where possible. Prizes are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers in each event. Results will be posted on the event Facebook page.

Practical information

Parking is organised at Kinnaird Primary School, McIntyre Ave, Larbert FK5 4TQ, followed by a short walk of about 1 km to registration and the start area; registration may be located in the car park. Entrants must be at least 16 years old. Entry fee is listed at £15 (closing date 8 November 2025) plus a service fee. No general refunds or transfers are available after the event, but transfers via the entry system are possible up to 14 days before the race. In case of severe weather the event may be postponed; entrants will be automatically re-entered for the rescheduled date or offered a 25% refund if they cannot attend. Trail runs nearby

A guided 6 km trail run from Milngavie Train Station using headtorches, following parts of the Clyde Coastal Path and West Highland Way. Social group runs with qualified guides, mandatory trail shoes and a headtorch.

A unique five-hour endurance run set in a medieval village. Runners complete as many laps as possible, starting in daylight and finishing under torchlight. Enter solo, in a pair, or as a team of four, with fancy dress strongly encouraged.

A ticketed running event in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on 5 April 2026 offering 5 km, 10 km and a half marathon, with all distances held at the park on the same day.
