Join The Highlander Backyard Ultra at Murthly Castle Estate from 18 to 20 July 2026 for the Last One Standing Scottish Championship, where runners tackle 4.167 mile loops each hour until one remains. Entries are open for 200 runners.

Trail runs at Callendar House in Falkirk offer 5 km, 10 km and half marathon distances on wooded parkland routes. The event is Canicross friendly, uses live chip-timing and all finishers receive a medal, merchandise and refreshments.

A trail running weekend at Glen Tanar Estate in Aboyne on 25th and 26th July 2026, with multiple distances across tracks, heather moorland, pine forest and beside the River Tanar. Camping and participant resources are available.

A just under six mile multi terrain hill race around Falkland Hill with over 400 m ascent, held during the Falkland Gala. The route includes steep sections and varied trails; entrants must carry full body cover and their own water.

August 2026

A 5.6 km hill race with 370 m of climb as part of the Newtonmore Highland Games, starting with a lap of the games field and climbing to the summit of An Torr before a technical descent and final field lap.

A one lap trail race around Templeton Woods on 2 August 2026 covering about 5.5 miles. The event is open to runners aged 18 and over and features marked routes, first aid, refreshments and age and team prizes.

Experience a 12 hour endurance event at the scenic Dean Castle Country Park. Run solo or in a relay team on a 4 km loop through mixed terrain and parkland to see how far you can go.

Part of the Aberdour Festival, the Donkey Brae Races feature a timed 7 mile coastal course, a 2 mile village route and a c.1 km fun run, finishing at Silver Sands Park with on-course hydration, medals and prizes.

Celebrate a decade of trail running in Scotland at the 10th anniversary of the Dunoon Ultra Marathon. Choose between a solo ultra or a three person relay through the scenic landscapes of Argyll with a historic pier finish.

A short hill race of about 3.5 miles with 700 ft of ascent held within the Glenurquhart Highland Games in Drumnadrochit. Entry fee £10, minimum age 17, with on-the-day entries listed as available until 2:30pm.

Trail running festival at Devilla Forest on 23 Aug 2026 offering half marathon, 10 km, 5 km and a 1.5 km family run. The event uses marked, marshalled forest routes and includes finisher medals and a race memento.

A trail race on the Isle of Arran of roughly 10K with about 600 feet of ascent, mainly on rough footpaths and forestry roads. The route runs to and from Brodick and is held under Scottish Athletics rules.

A 5.7 mile trail race in Cardenden Woods on 23 August 2026 marking the 200th anniversary of Scotland’s last pistol duel, with mainly off-road terrain, limited places and on-site prize giving at the Corrie Centre.

Three evening *5 km* races in Edinburgh at Inverleith Park, Leith Links and Fettes. Individual entry is £12 or £30 for all three; chip timing, photos, marked routes and age-category prizes are provided.
