The Run of the Mill (TBC) is scheduled for Sat 31-Oct-26. The event distance is 14.6 km with 966 m of ascent. Entry cost is £6, with limited entry on the day for £8. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers, and first place in each male and female veteran category: V40, V50, V60 and V70.

Course and facilities

The route starts and finishes in Alva Glen next to the golf club and passes through Ochils Woodland Park to Tillicoultry. Runners then climb the east side of the glen and visit checkpoints on the summits of Andrew Gannel Hill, Ben Cleuch, Ben Ever and The Nebit. This year runners must climb The Nebit; in previous editions it was bypassed. The section to Tillicoultry after the golf course will be flagged. Participants should watch for traffic.

Car parking is available in and around Alva. Toilet and limited facilities are available at Alva Scout Hall.

Registration and kit

Registration takes place at Alva Scout Hall, Johnstone Park, Park Street, Alva, FK12 5LL and will open at 10:00. Runners are expected to carry the following kit: full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, compass, whistle and a suitable map (one is supplied but a more detailed map is preferable).
