A weekend of trail races at Glen Tanar Estate in Royal Deeside, set in the Cairngorms National Park. Distance races run from 10 km to 55 km and the weekend includes family events and a new free Toddler Dash for 2026.

August 2026

A 5.6 km hill race within the Newtonmore Highland Games featuring field laps, multiple fences and a river, a steep ascent to An Torr and a technical heather descent before a final lap of the games field.

A women only ultramarathon along the River Tay Way from Loch Tay to Perth on 1 August 2026. The fully waymarked route is about 75 km and includes chip timing, medical support, water stations, and toilets stocked with free period products.

A one-lap *5.5 mile* trail run around Templeton Woods on 2 August 2026, open to runners aged 18 and over. Numbers collected on the day, basic changing facilities, first aid cover, refreshments and prize categories including team awards.

Form a team and run a 27 mile relay along the traffic free Formartine and Buchan Way. Shared across 9 legs from Peterhead to Ellon, this event includes finishers medals and post race refreshments for all participants.

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Mormond Hill Run on a 5.6 mile course with stunning views. This 9 km hill run features 600 feet of ascent and awards bespoke medals to all finishers.

A 33 km fell race across the Ochil Hills with 1770 m of ascent, starting at Glen Sherrup and finishing at Stirling University. Summit controls mark the route and runners must carry compulsory map, compass, whistle and waterproofs.

A short hill race within the Glenurquhart Highland Games in Drumnadrochit, about 3.5 miles with 700 feet of climb. Entry is via SiEntries, fee £10, minimum age 17.

A 10km trail run around Bertha Loch and Almondbank with technical, muddy sections through woods and gentle hills. A 12 hour lapped event called Big Bertha uses the same 10km loop for as many laps as participants choose.

Trail running festival in Devilla Forest near Kincardine featuring a one lap half marathon, 10 km, 5 km and a 1.5 km family run around Tulliallan Castle. Routes are waymarked and marshalled and finishers receive medals.
