Breaking The Laws 30K and 10K walk

Breaking The Laws is a running event in North Berwick that honours the Scottish Commandos and raises funds for Scottish Veterans Residences. The main event is a 30K route offered as a solo challenge or as a relay for teams of three. There is also a scenic 10K circular walk around North Berwick Law and the surrounding area.

Distances

  • 30K run with solo or relay team of three
  • 10K circular walk around North Berwick Law and Balgone

The 30K route starts and finishes in North Berwick and is divided into three relay friendly legs. The first leg climbs North Berwick Law then follows the John Muir Way to East Linton. The second leg goes from East Linton up Trapain Law via the River Tyne and returns to East Linton. The third leg returns to North Berwick and has no significant hill on that section.

The event features chip timing, medal and event t shirt, hydration stations, relay changeover area, full marshals, first aid cover and free car parking. The organiser pledges to donate five pounds per runner or team to Scottish Veterans Residences, a charity that provides supported housing for former members of the UK Armed Forces who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with services in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow.
