Breaking The Laws 30K : North Berwick
Breaking The Laws is a running and walking event held in North Berwick on 13 September 2026. The main event is a 30K route with a total ascent of about 640 metres. The course uses a mix of roads, trails and hill sections and is described as fully marshalled throughout.
The 30K course is divided into three relay-friendly legs. The route follows the John Muir Way toward East Linton, continues via the River Tyne and up Traprain Law, then returns to North Berwick and finishes by ascending North Berwick Law. A separate subevent is a scenic 10K circular walk around North Berwick Law and Balgone.
Event services and inclusions listed are chip timing, finisher medal, event t-shirt, hydration stations, relay changeover area, first aid cover and free car parking. Organisers also provide a relay changeover area and full marshal coverage along the route.

The event supports Scottish Veterans Residences. There is an option to make an additional donation, and organisers have pledged to donate £5 from every runner or team entry to the charity, which provides supported housing for former members of the UK Armed Forces in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow.
