A 127 km trail race along the Wicklow Way from Marlay Park to Clonegal with 3,665 m ascent, Level C mandatory kit and pre-approval required.

A NIMRA medium-distance fell race at Gortin Glens covering 12 km with 500 m ascent to Mullaghcarn (542 m). Trail shoes are advised, entries are limited to 200 and the minimum age is 17.

Half marathon and 10 km races through the grounds and surrounding forest of Hillsborough Castle, supporting Action Mental Health with chip timing and a themed medal.

Trail running at Glen of the Downs, Co. Wicklow with **8.15 km** and **4.88 km** options, mandatory Level B kit and limited parking at the Outdoor Living car park.

August 2026

Four evening runs in Longford across August 2026, starting with a Royal Canal 5k on 5 August and continuing on 12, 19 and 26 August. Entrants can choose a full series entry with a medal and t shirt or single night entries.

The GBultras | Ultra Great Britain will take place in Stranraer on Saturday 8 August 2026.

215-mile coast-to-coast ultramarathon along the Southern Upland Way from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath with 12 checkpoints, 100-hour cut-off and application-only entry.

A 19 mile mountain race in the Mourne Mountains with about 2,600 m ascent and an anticlockwise 2026 route over seven summits. Navigation skills and mandatory safety kit are required and entries are limited to 150.

A backyard-style endurance event at Florence Court where runners repeat a 4.17 mile loop each hour until a single runner remains; medals and event shirts for participants.

A 3.8 mile off road race to the summit of Lurig (1,073 ft) and back, held as part of the Heart of the Glens Festival. Trail shoes are advised; minimum age 16 and the published entry fee was £25.

A fully waymarked 7.70 km low carbon mountain event in Ticknock with about 330 m climb, singletrack terrain and a 4.00 km junior course; public transport is recommended.

A fully marked mountain running event at Lough Tay offering an 8 km main course and a 5 km short course, with mandatory Level B kit and league based handicap starts. Entry fees are €7 and €5 for eligible age groups.

A NIMRA short distance hill race at Scrabo Country Park on 20 August 2026: 6.35 km over two forested laps with 280 m ascent and a 120-entry limit.

Mountain running at Belmont Demesne in Wicklow with marked long and short trail courses, a 1 km fun run, mandatory kit requirements and a €3 car park charge.

A two-date 4-mile series in Co. Kildare with a trail event at Donadea Forest Park and a road race in Clane, permit approved and linked to an Athletics Ireland fundraiser.

A mountain fell race in the Western Mournes based at Sandy Brae on 29 August 2026. The route covers 11 km with 768 m of ascent, includes named control points and marked sections, and requires compulsory mountain safety kit.

September 2026

The Spirit of Axnfell will take place in Isle of Man on Sunday 13 September 2026. You can run 32 kilometers.

A ten mile mixed terrain race on 13 September 2026 along the final section of the Mull of Galloway Trail from Sandhead to Stranraer. Entry includes return bus, on course refreshments, a finish goody bag and an eco medal; a four hour cut off..

A mixed terrain 10 km race through Clandeboye Estate near Bangor Co Down on 13 September 2026, organised by Coastal Runners NI. Entries run 5 June to 10 September and include a finishers medal, prizes and post-race refreshments.
