Irish BYU Championship 2026

The Irish BYU Championship 2026 is a backyard style running event hosted by Hellevation Running at Florence Court on 8 August 2026. The event uses repeated laps of a forested loop until a single competitor remains the champion.

The format requires each lap to be completed within one hour. After each completed lap the field begins the next lap and laps repeat hourly until only one runner remains. Only fully finished laps count and the usual rules for Backyard events apply. Pacers are not allowed except for other entered competitors.

The course is a 4.17 mile route around the paths and forests of Florence Court. The route is flat at the start, rises through trees to the halfway point, then descends to the finish.

Eligibility requires a minimum age of 16 on the event date. Entry information recorded for the event includes an entry fee of €90 and entry open and close dates of 11 April 2026 and 1 August 2026 respectively. Every participant receives a medal and an event t-shirt. Any runner who accumulates 100 miles during the event joins the Hellevation Running 100 mile club and receives a commemorative hoodie. The last remaining runner is declared Irish Champion 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
